DIVING BASE: ACCOMMODATION AT LE NORTHOLME, MAHE ISLAND, SEYCHELLES
One of the first hotels in the Seychelles, built before World War I, Le Northolme has newly re-opened as a 5 Star resort in the Seychelles, fully rebuilt from the ground up. Le Northolme is located in Glacis - a secluded hideaway along Beau Vallon Bay offering spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and nearby islands.
Le Northolme offers 40 luxurious villas tucked in small beach coves and on the hillside, retaining an old world Seychellois charm, enhanced by friendly service and a casual seaside resort elegance. Your transfer from Pointe-Larue International Airport on Mahe Island is a 25 minute scenic ride to Le Northolme, driving along the beach road to Victoria, the ‘smallest Capital in the world’, over the mountain to the famous Beau Vallon Bay (where the dive centers are) and then to Glacis, on the northwest corner of Mahé.
Snorkeling at Le Northolme:
Le Northolme does not feature a dive center - being located just minutes away from the leading dive centers in the Seychelles - however, guests can enjoy great snorkeling from the resort, with the use of snorkeling equipment (mask, fins & snorkel) provided on a complimentary basis, and discover the delightful underwater world surrounding Le Northolme. Note: With our diving package, guests are collected from Le Northolme and transferred to the boat launch site daily, and returned to the hotel at the end of the diving session.
Accommodation at Le Northolme:
Le Northolme’s 40 villas are: 14 Deluxe Oceanfront villas and 26 Oceanview Hillside villas, all offering beautiful views. The Deluxe Oceanfront Villas are single- storey, and most of the Oceanview Hillside Villas are in the double-storey style buildings.
All villas at Le Northolme are designed in the traditional Seychelles style of architecture, blending colonial and contemporary décor with high ceilings, detailed balustrades, dormers, and glass panel French doors leading out to airy balconies, constructed to blend in with the natural landscape. The Villas are bright, airy, and spacious offering more than 90 m˛ of living space. All Villas at Le Northolme are elevated above the ground on stilts, offering the perception & tranquility of a tree house. The interior design presents an elegant, modern décor through use of natural materials and fabrics from the Far East. The bedroom features a luxurious king-size, four-poster bed with a lace canopy and goose down pillows. Colorful throw cushions adorn the bed and living room and the walls add further color with framed local artwork. A 26" LCD flat screen, a stereo CD/DVD music system, and a bedside IDD phone with voicemail and speakerphone are the finishing touches to this peaceful retreat at the end of your diving day.
Dining options at Le Northolme:
The Hilltop Restaurant offers panoramic views and the Ocean View Bar is reminiscent of the hotel's 'James Bond' history, commemorating author Ian Flemming's stays at Le Northolme and his inspiration for the 007 plot of 'For Your Eyes Only'. Les Cocotiers is the resort's fine dining option. The Chefs prepare delicious meals to suit international tastes and specialize in the local Creole cuisine using fresh local seafood, vegetables and spices.

The Duniye Spa provides relaxing massage treatments after a tiring day or at the end of your diving package. The resort's infinity pool is a beautiful place to sip martinis and watch spectacular sunsets. A Fitness Centre with state of the art gym equipment, overlooks the ocean. The 'Crow's Nest' Games Room offers recreational activities such as table tennis, a pool table, darts, board games, TV lounge and library.
